Read On Standby (ROS) Access during Upgrade process LUW

During the version upgrade of Db2 LUW, the standby (ROS enabled) needs to be brought down - during the upgrade:

https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/db2/11.5?topic=udhadrhe-upgrading-db2-servers-in-hadr-environments-without-standby-reinitialization

I would VERY much appreciate, if the standby is a available (for ROS) – during the upgrade. My problem is really that I need to deactivate standby in step 6 – while the Primary is “in between”….

And then go to step9 – and back onto the primary for step10 – so from 6-10 I have NO access to “any of my data”…. Not on the primary - not on the ROS standby.

I would VERY much like to have ROS available (as we need access to previous transactions) during the upgrade of the primary. But if I leave it up, I will have to reinitialize the HADR - hence transport a backup (multi TB) from datacenter1 to datacenter2 and vice versa… (we run a two site installation - sort of active-active).

It would be NICE (actually more than nice) if:

a) leave HADR standby active

b) Bring primary down, upgrade it

c) the HADR standby receives an "uplevel" log record, and stops the replay - but HADR standby is STILL available

d) Primary goes through the entire process and is brought online

e) Standby is brought down and upgraded

f) start hadr on standby

g) start hadr on primary

Or - some variation thereof.

Basically - no "HADR reinitialization" required.
