DMC - Encryption of the AES128 key at rest

In IBM Db2 DMC, For the AES128 encryption key that is used to encrypt all the keystore pwd, DB2 and Service Account credentials, there is a security finding on the Insecure storage of data encryption keys – i.e. the AES128 DEK is stored unencrypted at rest in the config file “”. Reference: The encryption key can be set by wlp.password.encryption.key field in “”.

We would need a capability in DMC or whether IBM can plan to externalize the key or integrate the config file with external key vault e.g. customer's Vault?

This will then ensure encryption of the AES128 key at rest, and encryption of this key at the Vault. The objective is to ensure this key is securely stored in encrypted format at rest.

Thank you!
