RESTORE DOESN'T PRESERVE THE ORIGINAL TABLESPACE LAYOUT LIKE THE SOURCE

We run into a problem with DB2 restore taking more than one day.

SAP created 'Special Build 40602' which preserves the original Tablespace layout.

See IBM ticket TS003864545

This 'Special Build' was supposed to be integrated with DB2 version 12,

now that version 12 is released, would like to know of it was integrated.

Restore old APARs:

As per SAP, 'Special build was NOT integrated in DB2 V12:

Updated 05.12.2024 at 19:05 by SAP AgentTranslateInfo for Customer

Dear Customer,
according to the Development this particular change was not included in the official build as "... this scenario can only come about due to inconsistent free space on the target storage paths. Our documentation describes that the space must be identical to the source storage paths to have the same container layout, and that was not the case in the previous case. If you need the behavior to be consistent the target free space must be identical across all paths."

Please, let me know, if you have any questions.

SAP ticket is "is 'Special Build 40602' part of DB6 version 12.1 ?" https://me.sap.com/case/002075129400012399482024/overview

So, can you please integrate Special build into DB2 ?

Regards,

Victor

Hello Victor. Thank you for submitting your request. The Support team communicated correctly that our Developers had concluded this was not a defect. Therefore no fix was added to the v12.1 code.
Allow us some time to revisit the cases mentioned and discuss internally.
We are reviewing this. Please expect an update in the portal within 90 days.
    Thank you.
