Fix "ZRC=0x870F003E=-2029060034=SQLO_QUE_BAD_HANDLE "Bad Queue Handle" - when db2 utility output is piped

This error has been reported since 2014 and still not fixed as of DB2 LUW CSB build level 2503051558 (March 2025 release). You have updated DT236621 as recently as February 2025 and claim this is resolved; but we are at the March 2025 release and this noise error is still being produced. See circumstance details below.

“ZRC=0x870F003E=-2029060034=SQLO_QUE_BAD_HANDLE "Bad Queue Handle" DIA8555C An invalid message queue handle was encountered.”

These errors occur whenever DB2 LUW utility streams are piped, liked this:

db2 reorgchk current statistics on table all | head

We use Unix pipes frequently. As Ember said, why is this STILL an error?

Thanks Jeffrey. If you believe you are experiencing a bug that is reported to be fixed in the release you have applied, please open a Support case to have our experts investigate it. If you could post the related case number as a comment in this Idea, it would be helpful to track your question to closure.

You can use the Ideas portal to request feature enhancements or product improvements that your organization would benefit from. We regularly review all user Ideas and try to incorporate as many as align with the product roadmap and direction.

Thank you again for raising the concern.

I reported it here because I wasn't sure of the scope of the IBM Ideas site. Yes this is happening since the March 2025 CSB was installed. No, I have not opened a support ticket, but I will if you suggest.

    Hi Jeffrey.
Thank you for raising this. It sounds like you are seeing an error that has been reported to be fixed in the CSB that you have applied - is that right? Have you opened a Support case related to this? Could you say more about why this should be an enhancement request?
Meanwhile, we are looking into it. Appreciate the details you will provide.
    Thanks
