Support DB2 DPF with Pacemaker

Problem Statement / Real-Life Scenario

We are using IBM Db2 DPF in a high-availability environment with Pacemaker. In our environment, each DPF member uses a dedicated 10Gb network for inter-member communication. However, when configuring netname in db2nodes.cfg, this configuration is not supported in a Pacemaker-managed environment, especially during takeover or failover operations.

As a result, customers cannot use the dedicated high-speed network together with Pacemaker, even though both technologies are commonly used in enterprise environments.

Current Workaround

The current workaround is to avoid using the netname configuration and instead use the default network interface for DPF communication. This means the dedicated 10Gb network cannot be utilized, resulting in reduced network performance and less flexibility in network design.

Proposed Solution

Support the netname configuration in db2nodes.cfg when Db2 DPF is deployed with Pacemaker. During Pacemaker takeover/failover, the configured netname should continue to function correctly so that DPF communication can remain on the designated high-speed network.
