Allow ALTER TABLE xxx COLUMN yyy SET NOT NULL

The ability to change nearly everything about a column is really cool in Db2. Sadly, the one thing that you cannot easily change is the NULLability of any given column. This is definitely a requirement all over the place and currently can only be done by either a DROP and reCREATE or a set of nasty ADD COLUMN, DROP COLUMN, RENAME COLUMN SQLs which forces at least one REORG for materialization even if the table is empty!

The problems get worse if you have old table designs where people have NULLable columns but no actual NULL data due to not reading the docu years ago...

The minimum I would want is a docu update explicity saying ALTER TABLE xxx ALTER COLUMN yyy SET NOT NULL is not allowed. Perhaps with a small paragraph about the best way to then get there (Like in my additional details)
