Request for a new Count authority in Db2

Normally a lot of organisations have production and customer data not visible to the DBA authority without some kind of enhanced access. For quite a few implementations and production support tasks DBAs or even application support staff are only providing monitoring support. Also many a times DBAs are looking at performance issues and want to enquire on the data counts for certain values/groups of data etc to look into data skew amongst other things.

If there was a Db2 authority that allowed user (DBAs and more) to run counts i.e. SELECT COUNT(*), COUNT(DISTINCT colname(s) then it can help enormously with problem determinations and support activities.

Some implementation support is just to run counts before and after implementations as an example.

I do understand that a count authority without having data access maybe difficult to implement architecture wise but if possible it will be enormously useful in a variety of situations without having to go for the full governance needed in most cases.
