Attributes for implicit objects per database

We create private databases for our developers and some business analysts. User ABC123 has his own database called ABC123 and is DBADM for that database. In these databases they can mess around as much as they want and they can create tables there saying IN DATABASE instead of creating explicit tablespaces.

The databases are also used when they use SAVE DATA AS in QMF. We control that in table Q.PROFILES by specifying DATABASE “ABC123” in column SPACE for user ABC123.

The objects created will have default attributes that is the Db2 defaults or what is specified as DSNZPARMs. A few other attributes are taken from the database (STOGROUP, BUFFERPOOL, INDEXBP and CCSID). The system defaults are not good for objects in these databases.

I suggest that CREATE DATABASE is enhanced so that you can specify more default values for implicit objects created in the database. The most important for us is MAXPARTITIONS, but I can imagine that we would like to set defaults for other attributes in the future too.
