We will like to see some automated way to change just the IP when we failover to our disaster recovery site instead of making it a manual process on the Admin Console

We have automated the changes we do on our disaster recovery site by submitting batch jobs to alter the ALIAS for InSync once the DB2's start. Since the private Network does not change and we recover via GDPS the accelerator connects with no issues. Then we have to go into the Admin Console and do a manual change of the IP for InSync that is not part of the private Network and cannot be the same as PROD on the disaster recovery site. All we have to do is really change the IP, the admin console assumes also that the port is also changing, so we have specify both, the port change should be optional.

It will help us tremendously if we are just allowed to change the InSync IP address only and allow us to automate it by calling a SP to do that change, we can then put that on a Batch job that calls a Stored Procedure and avoid the Admin Console manual step all the way. We are able to automate via batch job everything else , except for this. Is highly desirable to avoid that Admin Console change .

We are open to any other solutions that will automate this particular Change.

Hi Jeff, thanks for your comment, we are already considering the idea with high priority. The outlook of delivery is considered for 1Q 2026.

Any Update on this request?  Our company could really benefit from this capability to be in version 8 as initially discussed.   Will there be some way of automatically updating the IP address, or can we use a DNS name instead of IP addresses to reduce the need to even having to change the IP address

We are going to be migrating to IDAA on Linux One over the next year and half and will be doing some data center swaps and DR readiness exercises and would like to have this handled through automation

    Thanks Jeff Waggoner State Farm

The ability to automate the IP change will reduce manual steps and delays with IDAA use during a move to a different data center. With the advent of Flexable Capacity, and the desire to run for an elongated time bi-directionally, this feature would be very helpful.
