IDAA V8: Preserve existing data when re-enabling replication for an IDAA table

Currently, when replication is enabled for an IDAA table, the table is automatically marked for initial Load, and all previously loaded data is discarded. This requires a complete reload, even if the data already exists in the accelerator.

We propose adding an option to enable replication without forcing an initial Load, allowing replication to continue from the current state of the table.

Why this would be valuable. When replication is disabled for an already loaded table, a normal load operation is able to determine where to continue by using the Data Changes information. This indicates that the necessary information already exists to identify the synchronization point.

For this reason, the same principle should also be applicable when replication is re-enabled. Instead of discarding all existing data and starting from scratch, the system could resume replication from the last known synchronization point.

  • Eliminates unnecessary full table reloads for large tables.

  • Significantly reduces downtime and the time required to bring a table back into synchronization.

  • Decreases CPU, I/O, and network utilization by avoiding additional data transfers.

  • Improves recovery scenarios where replication must be disabled only for a short period.
