Db2Z INSERT with VALUES should allow multiple rows

Db2 LUW and many other RDMS allow one INSERT with VALUES to insert multiple rows at once.

Db2 Z does not allow that syntax. Db2 Z INSERT with VALUES only allows one row at a time

So if you have multiple rows you want to insert with the INSERT using VALUES then you need multiple INSERT statement. Fine. minor annoyance but OK.

This RFE is for IBM to enhance INSERT with VALUES to allow multiple rows. So INSERT behaves like every other RDBMS in the world.


Why? Not for me and my existing application. They already work around this minor limitation.


But I think this limitation is off-putting to developers who are new to Db2Z. They may have generic tools that generate INSERT scripts with VALUES with multiple rows. But now they have this limitation.

    You can close this idea. It was submitted under the wrong "workspace". I accidently used Db2AI for z/OS. I really menat Db2 z/OS!
