LOAD RESUME SHRLEVEL REFERENCE

We use LOAD REPLACE SHRLEVEL REFERENCE since the first day it was delivered. It solves so many problems. One of the things it solves is that if the load terminates/abends or we ourselves for any reason has to cancel the job the tablespace is back to its original state.

We have had a few LOAD RESUME SHRLEVEL NONE that has caused problems when abending/terminating or we considered cancelling the job as it took too much time. In that case we end up in a situation where we have to do a recover.

I think that a LOAD RESUME SHRLEVEL REFERENCE would solve that problem.

The LOAD REPLACE SHRLEVEL REFERENCE load the data into shadow datasets and then switch data sets. What if, instead of allocating empty datasets, it would start by copying the current data sets to shadow data sets and then load with resume into these shadow data sets. And finally switch data sets.

    Dear Martin, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. The Db2 Utilities development team reviewed it and although they strongly understand and agree with the recoverability and availability values this enhancement provides, they do not have this enhancement scheduled for either development or delivery in the upcoming 12 to 15 months.

    Consequently, we are marking this as 'not under consideration' at this time. However, we do have this on our list of roadmap items to revisit in the future.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 Utilities development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 Utilities.
