Reorg Utility should leave objects in Status UTUT when victim of a Timeout of DBD01

We have the problem, that every now and then a reorg abends because of a timeout of DBD01 in the switch-phase. The reorged object remains in status UTUT and cannot be accessed by anyone, until the utility is terminated via command.
After a long time of investigation the lab has found out, that a java thread, holding a lock on a DBD, was stuck for more than 10 seconds. It was stuck because of lack of zIIP resources. Althoug in average we have enough zIIP resources there might be peak situations, where this may happen. That would explain why we cannot recreate the situation at will.

We suggest that, when in the switch phase, the reorg could first establish the necessary lock before setting the status UTUT. If that fails. If aquireing the lock is not successful the utility should abend and not leaving the object in a status that prevents access to it.

    Dear Rolf, Thanks for opening the Aha requirement. Development will look into ways to mitigate the residual UTUT that resulted in application impact after REORG failure in this scenario.
