When a full online backup is running and an Abinitio (DAIP) job runs and create new staging tables (or drop them), it caused an impact to the database that we are not able to recover from. Most of the tables (if not all) will be in a “Backup in progress” state. The only way to recover from this is to restart the database. Then we need to manage the process to stop IIDR replication, stop all the scheduled Control-M jobs (DIAP, ProvX, PatternX etc), then most of the times there is a problem with one Linux server and requires a restart. The server restart took 2 hours on Thursday evening last week. Then we restart the database and it will go into crash recovery and can take up to 3 hours to recover. Thereafter we start IIDR subscriptions and when that is going well we start all other services. It take us from 19:00 in the evening until 04:00 next morning. Then the jobs that fall behind needs to catch up to load data from source and can take up to midday to catch up. This is a recovery window of more than 12 hours.
We had to do this a number of times since March 2020. It cannot be tolerated anymore and we need your help to find a way to recover out of a situation like this.
We use version 3.7 in Production currently, version 3.10 in QA and plan to upgrade to version 11.5.2.0.
