MOVETB feature (FL 508) with DROP tablespace option enabled

The MOVETB option(with FL 508) has a shortcoming of not providing an option of DROP tablespace for the one which has moved ALL the tables from the source tablespace. Currently, we are forced to DROP the source TS separately outside of the generated JOB. I would recommend to include the option of choosing the DROP and then let the batch job generated to issue DROP statement in an independent step upon checking the previous step of successful MOVE process (create TS, ALTER, REORG). I have a case opened with IBM (Case number TS009199123).

Upon providing this option all the customers who use MOVETB feature to convert multi-table segmented TS to UTS using Admin tool can accomplish in a single job without any residuals to be taken care later.

    Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. While we view all the enhancement requests we receive as valuable and we would like to implement all of them, in an effort to have maximum transparency we are closing the ones that don’t currently appear on our two year product roadmap.

    This is not to say that these enhancements may not still be implemented at some point in the future, as we constantly evaluate our requirements on the basis of customer demand and technical impact and try to deliver maximum value to our customers. We appreciate your feedback and would be happy to discuss your enhancement requests further.

    We would like to also invite other customers to add their input and feedback on the need to provide an option to generate DROP statements. With the potential amount of statements generated with MOVETB, we wanted to be sure customers did not inadvertently dropped tablespaces when they were not ready to.
