Currently panel ADB2USV already allows to specify set of partitions that user needs to recover:
DSNUM . . . . . . . 1-5 > (1-5 or ALL)
It would generate
RECOVER TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 1
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 2
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 3
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 4
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 5
You will be able to do what they want and remove extra partitions.
No need to edit JCL, specify what you want on the panel:
DSNUM . . . . . . . 1,3,4 > (1-5 or ALL)
which will generate
RECOVER TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 1
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 3
TABLESPACE NMH14402.T14402B
DSNUM 4
This was shipped as a part of PH37341 APAR.
With Db2 13 you can use RECOVER DSNUM ALL on UTS, LOB, and partitioned indexes even if copies where done on partition level. If you take that into account, do you still need this (e.g. not on Db2 13 soon, not using UTS) ?
