Revoke impact report generated regardless of dependencies

Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS has an option to generate revoke impact report.


If there is a dependency on authorisation you are trying to revoke which prevents the revoke, it displays a message (since PH65207):

Can't revoke EXECUTE on <qualifier B>.<table function name>.

<qualifier A>.<view name> depends on it.

But in this case revoke impact report is not generated even if it was requested.


It would be very useful to get revoke impact report in this case as well, as it would allow us to work on all impacts in parallel. We would not have to wait to resolve dependency that prohibits revoke before we can start resolving other revoke impacts.

It is important for us because on ocasion there is an emergency for revoke and it is additional risk to proceed without also checking revoke imapct report (especially in case of SYSADM authority revoke).

The idea is to generate revoke impact report in any case (along with the message about dependency that prevents the revoke), regardless if revoke can be executed or not.

    Thank you for submitting this Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS enhancement request.

    After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming product deliverable because the request has a high implementation cost with a low relative universal value. Consequently, we will not be implementing this request at the present time. As priorities change, we will revisit this request to see how it fits into the vision at that time.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS.
