IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Flexibility of Using LISTDEF Options

Db2 Automation Tool allow users to generate utility control statements using LISTDEFS.

There are many options that can be used with LISTDEF utility however Db2 Automation Tool does not provide this flexibility.

For instance we need to use DEFINED ALL statement to include undefined objects in MODIFY STAT utility to cleanup the old entires.

The current Db2 Automation Tool configuration allows only generate default LISTDEF control statements in which DEFINED parameter is set to YES.

This configuration cause old stats for DEFINED NO objects to accumulate.

Please consider enchanching the LISTDEF options in Db2 Automation Tool and provide flexibility of using different options of the LISTDEF utility.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request.

LISTDEF DEFINED ALL is available via UI80739.

Automation Tool supports LISTDEF Include, Exclude, Clone, RI, All (Auxiliary spaces), History, and Archive keywords via the object profile.

Selecting the Exclude option in the object profile will prevent the object from being generated in the JCL vs actually displaying the EXCLUDE keyword.

COPY Yes/No is available via Exception processing.

LISTDEF options not currently supported via panel options in HAA:

    Basic and Extended.

This can be done via advanced SQL in the object profile:

To query objects with basic RBA values:

To query objects with extended RBA values:

Enter the same query as above for basic but change the TTYPE to = ‘E’ for extended.

Please let us know if these options do not satisfy your request, or if we need to enhance our user guide and help text and we will revisit. You can also reach out to our support team if you need any assistance in setting up a customized job profile.
