Omegamon DB2 can slow down or even stop reporting IRLM information when IRLM becomes very busy. This is the most important time for Omegamon DB2 to report this information as it's the one tool to help SMEs recover DB2 normal operations. Without this information, SMEs are effectively blind to what is happening within DB2 during times of DB2 stress. Omegamon DB2 uses IRLM requests to get information to display on IRLM activity. Omegamon IMS does not use IRLM requests to get this information (it uses XMS) and does not suffer this problem to my knowledge. Omegamon DB2 should be more reliable. Omegamon DB2 should use the same technique as Omegamon/IMS or a technique that means it is not affected by IRLM activity.
