We'd like to add that we believe as much of the FPE* modules as possible should be zIIP eligible. We are seeing some of our Omegamon XE for DB2 batch jobs consume in top 5 batch jobs of general CP. Omegamon Db2 is to help monitor health and promote good performance on the z platform. It is not for core functionality, so I would expect IBM would encourage people to use this tool to further/increase use of the z platform. I agree we may need to look for other alternatives if Omegamon XE for Db2 Perf Expert continues to consume expensive general CP MIPS. We used a 3rd party vendor to measure usage of the FPE modules during our Omegamon Db2 for Perf Expert batch job, and it was not just FPECMAIN, but other FPE modules (FPEUVLS2, FPEUIFC2, etc) and we would like to see a much better zIIP offload ratio (i.e., > 0) for this workload.
