With Omegamon for DB2 PE v5.40, with PWH configured, from classic interface, I can run Explain function of SQL text in thread active or in SQL cache. The customer requests the ability to edit EXPLAIN report, to correct the SQL query and rerun the Explain. The sql texts are very long, is impossible for the customer to do copy/paste of the rows.

Use Case

It is an enhancement fundamental for the customer, which he is used to using in CA sysview. He must have the possibility with OMPE, classic interface, in EXPLAIN report, to modify the queries and re-evaluate them with the explain.

    Customer Name: DOCK, a joint venture between IBM and CARIGE bank. We are migrating from CA sysview product to Omegamon DB2 and this request is fundamental for the customer.

    He uses Explain function from classic interface, with SQL text running (in THREAD ACTIVITY) or with SQL text in SQL CACHE. I configured PWH for having the Explain function.

    We are trying the SQL PA integration too.

    So in conclusion, the request is having the ability to edit the Explain report.

    With or without SQL PA integration.
