The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
We still had the sort work dd statements generated with 9 datasets each and Cyl,(900,900) but still jobs failed in certain cases when using DB2SORT (another pmr exist).
Then these jobs were rerun without DB2SORT and it finished ok. By taking the image copies on partlevel we are just avoiding a design flaw in how RE is dealing with the image copy and applying the logrecs.
This flaw still needs to be fixed as it is just a matter of time when a partlevel image copy is also too big.

Therefore the next steps would be to fix the design flaw to do the sort/merge of the log records in smaller chucks and to not include the IC into this. <br/>As I mentioned previously in the PMR the steps should be the following for a robust product: <br/><br/>- Write the latest full image copy <br/>- Add any incremental images copies <br/>- Getting the log records in small chunks and apply to object <br/>- continue until target LRSN has been reached <br/><br/>This will provide for restart capabilities and avoid having to restart from the beginning and wil make the product robust to handle any size objects with object level image copies or partition level image copies.
