Customer wants to predict the Logging impact of "Data Capture Change" before ALTERing the table. IBM LAT has Extended Report. But it seems you would have to actually turn on DCC and then compare the 'byte counts' for both cases (off and on)

Use Case
 
I had a conversation with a customer regarding the measurements of DATA CAPTURE CHANGE (DCC) impact and the discussion ended up Db2 Log reporting. <br/><br/>What I have noticed, IBM LAT has Extended Report. In this report, there is a field called <br/>Byte count : The total number of bytes contained within the log record. These byte counts are totaled at the end of the extended report.<br/><br/>It says, &quot;The byte count fields can be useful in comparing table activity as logged with and without DATA CAPTURE CHANGES. This DB2 option determines if full row<br/>images are logged, or just the changed portions of the row are logged. Using this report, you can easily identify the extra amount of logging that can occur with this<br/>option in effect.&quot;<br/>But it seems you would have to actually turn on DCC and then compare the 'byte counts' for both cases,<br/><br/>It looks like CA Log Analyzer was doing some sort of 'projection' about how DCC would change the amount of logging without actually having to on DCC.<br/>https://docops.ca.com/ca-log-analyzer-for-db2-for-z-os/18-0/en/using/using-data-capture-changes<br/><br/>Looks like LAT has room to be improved.

    Thank you for submitting this enhancement request and we understand the value it can provide.  While we would like to implement all of the requests we receive, in an effort to have maximum transparency we are letting you know that, while it will remain open in our backlog, it is not on our near term roadmap at this time. This is not to say that this enhancement will not be implemented at some point in the future as we constantly evaluate our requirements on the basis of customer demand and technical impact and try to deliver maximum value to our customers.  We appreciate your feedback and would be happy to discuss your enhancement request further if you’d like to.
