Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Improve function for decompress of IMS type99 log using H/W component instead of MVS service

We plan to use IBM InfoSphere Data Replication for IMS for next disaster recovery system. It needs new IMS type99 log records for data replication at source system.
The target system's CPU usage was dramatically increased. We would like to reduce CPU cost. IIDR for IMS apply service expands type99 log for database apply and it uses MVS decompression service now. IF this decompression workload is offload to H/W(zEDC or CSRCMPSC macro), some CPU cost will be reduced. Also if data compression ratio is improved by new compression, data transmission volume between capture side and apply side will be decreased  and CPU cost will be decreased more.
This new function might have to be optional function, in order to provide conventional user's compatibility.
Note: Both IMS and IIDR for IMS need to apply this function simultaneously. (i.e. IMS for data compression and IIDR for IMS for data decompression)
