Functions to initialize replication _DURING_UPDATING_ source DB are needed for IMS replication (IIDR for IMS) in case of failing to continue replication, especially due to inconsistency between source and target DBs. (just like "FULLREFRESH" of IIDR for DB2(QREP) or CCDC-CDC replication )
In addition, functions of pacing/capping workload for initialization are also needed in order to mitigate performance impact toward source DB (performance of online transcation, for this customer).
Reasons for requirements above are as follows.
- Customer can't avoid initializing replication (or creating DB copy) during online service time due to the service time requirement (acceptable out-of-service hours is only 1 hour at a time)
- Customer can't accept the workaround to use "Global Copy (DS8000 function)" in order to copy DB (create same image from source DB to target DB) instead. This is because, during copying for this purpose, data transfer for Disaster Recovery must be stopped. (As far as current specification of GDPS-MGM(Metro Global Mirror), target of copy for Global Copy must be chosen toward only _ONE_ direction per one source.)
Additional information for this requests are follows.
- These should be executed via command line or batch program (To execute/operate via CDA is _NOT_ desired way)

[IBM Update]
Hi,
Thank you for filing this requirement and for your interest in keeping our IMS/VSAM Data Replication technologies vital and successful. We depend on your continued interest and ideas to help ensure our products keep pace with market needs and industry standards.
Although we do agree that your request is valid, after monitoring your request for more customer demand over the last few years and applying other relevant evaluation criteria, unfortunately we won't be able to accept your request at this time. However, if there is still an important business need, we encourage you to file a new idea accompanied with any additional information that could help us prioritize the requirement in the future.
