Limit number of retries for unavailable target database

Source : IMS

Target : Oracle

Target Oracle database became unavailable due to an out of space condition. CDC for oracle did not detect this as an issue and continued its normal processing even though the Oracle Database was not accessible from this condition.

Classic CDC also perceive this as a non-issue and also continued its normal processing. During this time a refresh was occurring. When classic CDC attempted to send the data and detected that the database was not available, it continue to retry by sending the data. This occurred over 4M times.

    IBM update

    Thanks for filing this requirement. After review, we have determined that the software is working as designed. As a result, we do not plan to address this requirement.

    Note too that workarounds and other guidance to help alleviate the concern was provided by support including guidance to set refresh_end_on_error to true (which is the default)

    Hello Classic Development and OM team. Does the status of 'submitted' mean that the idea has been accepted or just under consideration? If it has been accepted, does that mean a PTF will be create sometime in the future and if so, is their an estimated ETA?
