High Availability feature using the InfoSphere CDC for z/OS failover for IMS

We are a 24x7 IMSPlex site including workload balancing across lpars. We have introduced CDC for IMS, replicating data from critical 24x7 business applications. Presently we do not take any outage for these business applications.

When making changes to IMS or other IMS related address spaces (such as IMS Connect), we use the product's high availability (HA) capability to ensure there is no outage, running the same component on multiple LPARs concurrently. CDC for IMS is the outlier as it is the only product we use that requires outages for change control activities as it is not highly available, 'plexed' address space. Effectively we would like the current High Availability feature using the InfoSphere CDC for z/OS failover to be extended to an IMS subsystem that is a member of an IMS data sharing group similar to the currently available DB2 capability.
