Support of Model deployment on Cloudera Hadoop Cluster

  • Today deployment is working using the Spark Cluster of IBM® Data Science Experience.
  • Some of IBM customers have Cloudera platform and would like to leverage this platform for deployment which is not possible at the moment with DSX Local.

We now have the mechanism to push down Batch scoring, Evaluations (apart from Training ) to a Cloudera Hadoop cluster via the Hadoop integration service.

Note - for real-time scoring - i.e. invoking predictions on one single record/event from a client through a REST API - the model is still served and scaled out from  DSX (Model Management & Deployment) - since there is really no need to access data on Hadoop to support this. Besides its always possible that the Hadoop cluster is not externalized for such client apps or business processes in the first place.
