Per our PMR Case number TS016159590
We are installing the containerized version of Connect Direct in our OpenShift environment. When we set up the NETMAP on any remote server, we use the IP address of the OpenShift node just as we always have done in ConnectDirect.
We have already setup up the NETMAP in the remote n0de and can send files from OpenShift to any Connect Direct server.
Our issue is that we DO NOT have a dedicated IP address for the cluster node. It is always possible that the cluster or node moves within AWS and the outgoing IP address can change. If that happens our OpenShift connect direct node will no longer be able to connect to other CD nodes as out IP address in the remote node NETMAP will be incorrect.
At this point, we have not found a way to have a CNAME record in DNS that would be updated with the new node IP address. I know we can have multiple IP addresses in the Alternate IP area, but is there a way to have a CIDR range or other way to be able to handle possible 1000's of different IP addresses in a NETMAP configuration?
