For the customer, daily Incoming and Outgoing Message count is around 60K+. During the daily operations, a copy of the message is sent to MER Queue and also Messages from FTM MER are passed to the downstream systems. Copies of messages from the MER Queue will be deleted by house keeping job at the end of the day.
During the daily operations, there are chances of missing ISN/OSN numbers in the downstream systems. When the ISN/OSN numbers are missing, then downstream system users reach out to FTM MER users requesting the details of the missing messages. FTM user has to look into the MER queue using Find Message Function and provide the details requested by the downstream system users.
Downstream system users will be providing only ISN/OSN numbers. So it is critical for FTM MER user to have the ability to find messages using ISN/OSN number in MER Find Message Function
MER is not an operations warehouse interface, ISN/OSN are applied after a message has been sent or received i.e. after MER would be used for message entry or repair. Has Cognos been looked at in this case?
