MER - enable checking line length (number of characters in one line) in fields with free input

In the fields in message in MER, which are free input during entry, there is no check of line length or number of lines. You can write unlimited in one line. There is no entry like in MERVA. Only purely structured fields, i.e. those with options A, B, etc have control All message types have most of the free fields for input. It is very difficult for users to manually enter messages and correct it, to count characters one by one in each raw. For example in msg field 77 with 150*65 format it is difficult to count all characters in one raw

    Hi,

we know that but it is very difficult for users to do that all the time. There are huge messages with lot of characters. Sometimes they copy text from some document , they need more time to check. Sometimes are invisible blanks or different characters after copying.

FTM SWIFT MER checks fields for max line length and numbers of lines.

Yes, you can enter unlimited in one line, but when finished with input, MER will check when leaving the field (either TAB to next field, pressing validate etc.) that the defined rules are checked. In such case, the textarea field will be surounded by red color and a tooltip with the what is wrong.
