Modeler Flow needs to be able to update or delete & insert records into the DB table

In our customer's usecases, we export data to DB tables as several way.

1. Insert (simply appending)

2. Update

3. Update and insert

4. Delete all records and insert

5. Create new table and insert (with schema settings)

 

SPSS Modeler's "database export node" has settings to do those exporting.

1. "Insert into table" mode

2. "Merge table" mode with "Only include records which exist in database" option

3. "Merge table" mode with "Add records to database" option

4. "Insert into table" mode with "Delete existing rows" option

5. "Create table" mode (user can choose dropping existing table or not)

 

But Modeler flow's "Data Asset Export" node in CP4D 2.5, user can do only #1. There is no way to do #2, #3, #4, and #5.

5. NOT AVAILABLE ("Replace the data set" seems to replace target table, but cannot create new table. Also this option cannot use detailed schema settings such as type of column (i.e. INTEGER, VARCHAR(10), etc))

 

So, if existing SPSS Modeler flow uses #2, #3, #4, and #5, user cannot migrate them to CP4D.

    Hello - Can you share some more information? Many of the existing database connectors already support several different options for handling existing tables and merging data, so the team would likely have to add on a per-connector basis. What are the highest priority databases expected here?
