IPL Index Build performance

On large Index Builds with LOG_INDEX_BUILDS enabled the performance of the IPL thread degrades drmatically if the whole index cannot be held in BUFFER CACHE. Once a required page is swapped out of BUFFER Cache then the IPL thread reads the required pages 1 by 1 into the buffer cache as needed and makes no use of READAHEAD. This has the impact of very slow index builds if the buffer cache isn't big enough to whole index or if the index was being built online with contention for buffer cache.

This was fixed in 12.10.xC6 and so this RFE can be closed.

Faster index transfer to secondary servers

When the LOG_INDEX_BUILD configuration parameter is enabled, the transfer of newly-created detached indexes to HDR or remote stand-alone secondary servers use light scans when possible, which leads to faster transfer rates.
