Support for Microsoft App-V for Information Server v11.5.x Client Tools

System: Information Server Client Tools

Actor: All users needing tools to be deployed and centrally managed from a central source using Microsoft App-V.

Description: The Department uses Microsoft App-V to virtualise software for central deployment to client machines. A manual silent install via response files or using Citrix XenApp has been ruled out as workaround options as it does not fit the existing pattern for other software deployments, and additionally does not meet the security requirements of our organisation.

The core blocker preventing the application virtualisation from functioning as expected appears to be hardcoded library paths in the application (e.g. in the Designer client). Other App-V packaged applications do not use hardcoded paths, and thus do not have this issue.
