Enable Private Endpoints for watsonx Orchestrate on IBM Cloud

We have a client who is considering integrating their existing agentic platform with watsonx Orchestrate (wxO) in the future running as a SaaS offering on IBM Cloud.

However, their security and compliance policies do not allow outbound or inbound traffic over the public internet for production systems.

To enable this integration, they require private endpoints (similar to Private Link or VPC endpoints) that allow secure, private network connectivity to the wxO service within IBM Cloud without traversing the public internet.

I believe this is currently not possible, but is it in the roadmap?

    We are tentatively targeting mid-February (subject to change) on IBM Cloud

    This feature is asked by a partner. They want to host models on IBM Code engine and want to enable only private endpoints due to security concerns.

    Hi,

    In the official Wx Orchestrate documentation, it says that API endpoint can now be private. What about the webchat "embedded agent" feature?

    In the embedded chat feature, used a lot by customers, the hostURL does not seem to use the api. For example, in my agent I see: hostURL: "https://eu-de.watson-orchestrate.cloud.ibm.com"

    Hi, following the private endpoint conversation, in this IBM documentation: https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/cloud-object-storage?topic=cloud-object-storage-endpoints

    It is clearly stated that "Private endpoints provide better performance" . So, no we do not have any datapoints to review but this statement aligns with the expected behaviour, since private endpoints route traffic through the IBM Cloud internal network instead of the public internet, resulting in lower latency, higher throughput, and more consistent performance.
