List Dialog Assistant as Tool

This means that the existing dialog assistant (built on Dialogues) can be integrated into a new user interface — either as:

  • a tool (a callable component used by another agent), or
  • an independent agent

In practice, this allows legacy Dialogues-based assistants to be embedded or reused inside the new Agents and Orchestrate framework without fully rebuilding them yet.

What does it imply:

  • Session variables = the contextual data that tracks the conversation’s state (for example, what the user has said, what step they’re in, or what data has been collected).
  • Agent reasoning = the internal decision-making process of the new agent framework.
  • The challenge is to track and synchronize these variables inside the new agent system so that features like:
    • Digression (when the user temporarily changes the topic and then returns to the original one), and
    • Disambiguation (when the system needs to clarify or ask “Did you mean X or Y?”)

Thank you for your input, do you agree that the requirement is already partially available through the ability to add legacy wxA or wxO assistants as agent collaborators?

This already allow to marry the old and new tech under one UX, please clarify what is missing and why it is most needed so we can scope & prioritize build on this.

Note we will soon enable to call agents from within an agentic workflow, giving more opportunity to bring legacy dialog tech in.
