MCP gateway had some trouble with self-signed certificates. Was that fixed?
Linking this idea to our MCP Gateway support implementation due to GA next week.
We were supporting both local and remote MCP server integration (since Oct), we are now adding Context Forge (MCP Gateway) while integrating Remote MCP.
MCP Gateway provides some security and policy controls, which will be additional benefit
Note that all tools will be visible to all WxO users in that tenant, but when you try to execute you need to enter your
OAuth2creds to setup connection with Remote MCP Server and execute, so if you don;t have right permission to execute a tool, you will get unauthorized error. But if the builder setup MCP connection as team credentials, all WxO users will have same level of access.Next: Support multiple Auth Types for MCP Servers in ADK
Refresh list of Remote MCP tools
Please create new ideas for any additional specific need.
Thanks for the update! I saw that MCP is already supported through ADK, which is great. That said, what I, and many of our customers, are really hoping for is a simpler, more visual integration directly through the UI.
I’ve been referring to this as “Full MCP Support.” Having a more streamlined experience would really help with adoption, especially for teams that aren’t as technical.
One idea I shared separately was around integrating of Langflow into watsonx.ai. I think it could be a great way to simplify ADK-based features while still keeping the power and flexibility under the hood.
Excited to see how this continues to develop!
Thank you for your feedback, we are already supporting MCP through the ADK per doc @ https://developer.watson-orchestrate.ibm.com/tools/toolkits
We do plan to add support in the UI / agent builder as we will eventually do for most ADK features.
That being said, let us know what may be missing in ADK today or what you would expect in UI when we get there.
