stripchar() function requires use of accent grave instead of quotes (I'm not making this up!)

When attempting to use the stripchar() function in a DERIVE node to remove spaces, dashes and parentheses from a phone number string field, I encountered an error: failed to apply operator or function to argument types stripchar(SYMBOL,SYMBOL).

The function requires that the first parameter be surrounded by accent grave rather than single or double quotes. This is not intuitive. It is obscure. It leads to customer frustration.

This odd quote symbol has a lot of different names. In Modeler usage I usually refer to it as character quote because it is used to delimit a character as opposed to a string. Historically Modeler treats characters and strings as separate classes, but this is an absolute pain to even to intermediate users and it applies in many places not just the stripchar function. The expression parser should be fixed to also support strings of length one where characters are needed.
