Password decodable issue in MDM Application.

 

MDM Product Version :- 11.6 IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Collaboration 

 

Issue Description :- While security testing, team found below HIGH vulnerability

Problem Statement :- It was observed that application password can be decoded when the user submits the username and password for logging into the MDM application.


Recommendation :- It is recommended to use Strong Encoding Algorithm having high complexity to decode the password.


Threat :- An adversary can steal user login credentials and manipulate the application by performing malicious activity,

 

Internal security team have some tool to decode password in text format. So this should fix in product. While entering user id and password on MDM Portal login page. At that time they are using tool to decode password in text format which is vulnerable.
