Import/Export Console needs to be accessible within Persona UI and also manage movement and archiving of files

One real life scenario: Bulk loading items via a csv file is the most efficient way for our Merchandise department to create new items and is a core component of what they do. Without the ability to run an import job on an adhoc basis in the Persona UI we are having to look into workarounds which involve dropping files on mounts and allowing the scheduled job to import them. However since the import jobs do not have any kind of archiving feature, or alert notification or the ability to handle wild cards in file names, we need to build all this into our load process which is obviously cumbersome, inefficient and error prone. The import job can also only be scheduled to run as often as every 5 minutes which means there could easily be a backlog of files to process and users could be waiting an excessive amount of time for their file to import without any real visibility on what is happening.
If the Persona UI had a facility similar to the Import Console on the Admin UI they would be able to select a file from their local drive and load it immediately which would also give them feedback that the job was successful or not and how many records were loaded. It is extremely difficult to give them this same feedback on the workaround solution.
This workaround solution also affects import jobs that are used for integration of reference data from upstream systems where we could end up with a backlog of files to process and need to manage the archiving and movement of files.
This affects all our users on our system as well as the teams which manage data integration.
