Rule Console feature in Persona UI has been provided to enable business users to design their Business Rules within the application with no coding knowledge required.
Construction of functions using coding facility would require programming knowledge. Moreover there are already many such capabilities already available in application. Users can go ahead and create their own Validation/Value/Default value rules on the attributes from the Specification console. Also user can create the different kinds of scripting to be applied on Catalog/Hierarchy like Entry build scripts, Entry Preview scripts, Pre/Post save scripts using the scripting console. Workflow console can be utilized to write scripts to be applied on workflows.
At this point, we do not intend to provide any additional programming capability in Rules Console as it goes against the very basic purpose of providing a visual interface to build rules easily. We may revisit this in future in case we see more demand from market.
