Item is getting successfully saved even if String Enumeration is not populating properly.

Hi Team,

We have two String enumeration attributes, where first attribute has static String Enum Values and where second attribute has a String Enum rule which will populate the data from a lookup table based on the first String Enum attribute.

We are selecting a value from the first String enum attribute and based on that value, second String Enum attribute will be populated and we can select whatever value we need and save it successfully.

Here the issue is, if we are repopulating a value in the first String Enum attribute which doesn't have any corresponding values in second String Enum attribute and try to save the Item, the expectation is system should throw an error like 'Invalid value. Instead of throwing the error Item is getting saved successfully with old value in second attribute.

Thanks.

This functionality is working as desired and documented here

We already have multiple customers using the same feature in their production environment since very long time. Any changes in the design could hamper their work and may also lead to performance issues. Hence we don't intend to change this feature.
