OOTB Search is triggered second time on returning to grid view from single edit View

While using OOTB search in day-to-day product enrichment process, users are facing difficulty as search is being triggered multiple times by Product. Below is the use case which users will be performing in Production on daily basis.

In Production imagine we have 100s of items tagged to one department. In this use case user opens OOTB search and tries to search for products that belongs to one department and imagine result set is around 100 items and user opens 1 product from the grid view after looking at data, then clicks on back button to come back again to grid view to check some other product data, then search is being triggered by Product again. Instead of triggering search second time.

Is there a possibility to provide state maintenance as configurable option, such that it is off by default and can be enabled for customers like David jones where search performance is poor.
