Tweak/Relax the validations on the source codes and source names for migrating MDM solution to IBM Virtual MDM with the least impact

Our team is preparing to make all our MDM solutions an IBM Virtual MDM Shop to tap into various functional and operational services catering to our usecases. As a part of which, we are migrating long standing MDM hubs using other competing MDM products in the healthcare industry to IBM Virtual MDM. During one of those initiatives, we got a roadblock where the current product has 100s of sources which do not comply with source code and source name validations that IBM Virtual MDM mandates - Out of the Box. This is making the cross product migration questionable with all the extra effort to sync up the translated sources codes with zero impact over all the connecting applications upstream and downstream.

The idea is to make the length and character constraints on the source code and source length either customizable or remove those by default. This is a potential hit/miss opportunity to another customer using IBM MDM and is highly time sensitive decision given the budgeting limitations. Further, we have more migrations like this lined up to consider IBM MDM Product. Please confirm if the IBM tech labs can release a feature pack version to meet this anytime soon. Additional technical details are published under 'Additional Details Section'.

This hub has a potential EID base (unique customer count) of about 2 to 3 Million records.

    Thank you for submitting.

    Your collegue Pavan Kumar Koneru has submitted same idea Nov 2020. Our recomendation has not changed, we suggest to use a source code/name that's within the length limitation and not to increase the column length to stay in supported state.

    I am adding this requirement to our backlog to be considered for future enhancement.
