Users can open Microsoft Office files directly from OpenPages. Every time a user clicks save within a file that is opened in this way, the file is saved in the OpenPages file repository. However, other users cannot see the changes until the file is checked in.
This existing feature allows users to inline edit file attachments, but only for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files with the following extensions: .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, ppt, pptx.
MS Visio diagrams with extensions .vsd or .vsdx, are often used to create process flow diagrams that are uploaded as file attachments in OpenPages. Therefore, it is a common need for the same inline edit functionality to be supported for Visio files.
Existing feature is described here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/openpages/8.2.0?topic=enhancements-opening-microsoft-office-files-directly-from-openpages
