Be able to launch a workflow from a calculation

It would be useful in situations where you want to start a workflow when specific conditions happen on your object. 

A user could make changes on a child object which in turn changes a calculated value on the parent. 

Once that change takes place a calculation on the parent object runs starting a workflow on the parent to update some values from the child. 

The reason you want to do this is that you cannot use a standard calculation on the field as this would make the field on the parent object read only and you still want this object to be editable by the user. You can have a scheduled workflow, but this can only run every hour, and would have to run against all objects. 

If a calculation could initiate the workflow then it would only have to run on the 1 object, which has less impact on the system. 

In this way we get an instant schedule, minimal impact on the system and the ability to keep the fields editable.
