The “Copy Object” feature in Workflow Operations

[Features to be considered for future implementation]
The “Copy Objects” feature available under Workflow > Action Properties > Operations > Operation
Detailed functional requirements: Ability to specify copy conditions (When) and multiple objects to copy.

 

[Background and Requirements]
We have received requests from several customers (currently two companies) to copy specific data from the Risk/Control master managed in the Library Folder for use.

 

[Specific Use Case]
During the progression of a Use Case Workflow, when specific conditions are met (e.g., when the Risk Level Field is “High”),
we want the Workflow Operation to automatically copy specific Risks and Controls (e.g., “Risk 1,” “Control 1-1, 1-2”) from the Risk/Control master managed in the Library Folder and link them to the relevant Use Case.

    Perhaps you could consider the Smart Actions for OpenPages product by IBM Business Partner Crystal Computing.

    Smart Actions is a productivity add on for OpenPages and with it you could easily create the functionality you want in less than a day of configuring. No Java or other programming skills required.

    We assume that it would be great that we could pick the object by using filter or conditions.
    For example :
    Condition1 : Folder equal "Library/xxxMaster/"
    Condition2 : Risk Category equal "Supplier Risk"
    Advanced Logic : 1 AND 2

    @Guest Thank you for submitting this RFE. The team has a follow up question on this use case:

    When deciding what to copy, how would you pick and choose what objects you would want to be copied?

    E.g if you are copying from a library risk and control, how would you pick which objects should be copied? Select specific risks and controls from the Risk/Control master managed in the Library Folder vs a static list you would setup in the workflow operation?

    Please provide any additional considerations of what you/ your customers would be looking for here.
