Allow Profile to be Selected Upon Login

Users assigned to multiple profiles in OpenPages frequently lose track of which profile is currently active, since that information is buried in a side menu item. Many users don't realize they need to switch profiles to access different content sets, which leads to confusion and unnecessary support requests.

Proposed enhancement: When a user with more than one assigned profile logs in, display a pop-up prompting them to select the profile they want to use for that session.

This behavior already appears intermittently today — I've occasionally seen a profile-selection pop-up at login, most often in non-production environments — but the trigger isn't documented and can't be reliably reproduced. We would like this pop-up to appear consistently at every login for users with multiple profiles.

To accommodate different user preferences, the pop-up should include a "Don't ask me again" option. Some users will want to confirm their profile on every login, while others prefer the current behavior of switching profiles only when needed.

Summary of requested behavior

  • Pop-up appears at login only for users with more than one profile assigned.
  • User selects the profile they want to use for that session.
  • User can opt out via a "Don't ask me again" checkbox, preserving today's experience.
  • Users who opt out can continue switching profiles manually as OpenPages works today.
