Optimizing the Cognos Query generated in IBM OpenPages application

Our client use the OOTB Framework Manager package to do Adhoc reporting and the challenge or Issue is with the performance of the report especially when queried on 2 objects (Control and Control Assessment). The cognos query that gets generated uses select * from tablename; regardless of whether we pick all column for reporting or selective columns. The query can be optimized by picking only selective columns rather than select *. it improve the performance and efficiency of the report.
