Temporal Tables by default in vNext Db2 Optim Directory

We want to set up an automated purge of Optim Archives but would like to preserve the metadata about each archive so we can do time travel queries to track the lifecycle of our archives.  This might, could or should be a requirement for records management. legal purposes.

    Hi Peter,

We have not tried it. I will add that to the agenda of our next team meeting to possibly give it a try. So it sounds like IBM would still support our directory then. We are running our Optim directories in Db2 V10.5 on RHEL.

    Hi,

    Questions:

    1.  Optim should be able to work fine with the Optim Directory tables in Db2 defined as System Temporal Tables.  Have you tried this already?

    2.  Is this request for Optim Distributed with its Optim Directory in Db2 LUW?  Or Optim native z/OS with its Optim Directory in Db2 for z/OS?

    Thank you,

    Peter
